  2. MetallicBitch says:

will avenged sevenfold be playing for 2012?? i missed them twice this year, and what i would do to get to see them at download :(

  3. PiEczKa says:

I doubt that A7X will be playing ;/ I was lucky to see them this Download but it’s rare that a band does it twice in a row ;/

    • Admin says:

Cheers for your thoughts…really need to get this site going a bit!

    • john says:

i dont agree im affriad, i think A7x will be back as they will want to keep touring due to the new drummer, maybe im just being optimistic though as i think they are amazing!
hope to see more mind blowing headliners like system of a down, was not a fan of linkin parks new stuff at all mind you!

    • Welshy says:

Not really, Killswitch Engage, Bullet, The Blackout, My Passion, A Day To Remember, Kids in Glass Houses, Biffy Clyro and Black Stone Cherry are all examples of bands that have played for 2 or more consecutive years, with the likes of Bullet and A Day To Remember playing most of the years

      • Moonie says:

I dont think A7X will play, although bands play 2 years on the trot frequently, i think due to their place in this years line up i think they won’t be back next year unless they headline second stage.

    • romani says:

      b4mv did too :P

  4. Rachel says:

30stm? i <3 them, saw them twice in 1 year and were amazing both times

    • elliott says:

no chance there spliting up after there next tour

      • DantePhoenix says:

That is far from certain, there is a certain amount of scaremongering going on regarding 30STM. Basically the situation at the moment is that Jared and his band mates don’t feel inspired enough to make a new album which they would be due for in about a year. My understanding is that there will be a certain degree of delaying a potential break up for as long as possible, and should the inspiration still not come out of the woodwork, I think they will release a short farewell EP, and following that will do a farewell tour. It would be a terrible shame, as most bands split because of a low point, usually after a poor album release, whereas This Is War is one of the greatest single album releases of the last 30 years, in the league of rock heavy weights such as Metallica’s Ride The Lightning. However, I very much doubt it will be the last we see of Jared, as he is incredibly talented in such a multitude of areas; he will probably start featuring much more heavily in blockbuster movies, assuming that’s what happens to take his fancy.

    • James says:

i went to leeds festival and 30STM have actually said that was their last UK for a long long time, sorry to hear it because they were amazing

  5. Pablo C says:

Any chance Ramsteinn will be there?

  6. dan says:

heard that RHCP and Foo fighters are in talks about sonisphere 2012 via the live twitter last night during the live slipknot stream.. also heard rumours that RUSH are planning on doing a Summer festival tour so i would of thought that with downloads history of having a classic rock headliner this may well be the band who have been confirmed? also in regards to rammstein there are doing a world tour from october and are in th UK in feb as ive bought a ticket.. so i wouldnt imagine after a world tour theyd do any festival dates but you never know..

  7. machine head , are the rumour i keep hearing for the friday. if their next album is as well recieved as the last. i can see this happening.

  8. downloadgoer says:

Metallica’s soni contract is up now there a must!

    • Admin says:

Seen a few mumblings on forums that they are a strong rumour so that’s why I made them the first band on the list.

      Thanks for the info!

  9. Matt says:

What do you think the chances of Therapy? returning are?

  10. George Milner says:

    Personally, after going to sonisphere two years in a row, I reckon that alot of sonisphere’s old head liners will make an appearance at Download ie;
    Iron Maiden
    Metallica

    but also a few other bands;

    soulfly or sepultura
    motorhead
    parkway drive
    sylosis
possibly You Me At Six? they were incredible this year :D

  11. Beth says:

I’d love it if Rammstein went. I’ve heard alot of Foo Fighters talk aswell. Not so sure if I’d want to see them. Either way, Rammstien FTW! :D

  12. Jonathan Peake says:

I heard that Van Halen may headline it. But I also think that Sum 41 might play there because they had the power cut at Sonisphere

  13. john says:

also steel panther are releasing a new album some time soon…. so would be amazing to see them back at download.. in 2010 they where the band to watch in my opinion!

  14. SOAD says:

    I heard HEADLINERS :)

    FRIDAY
    Kiss

    SATURDAY
    Green Day

    SUNDAY
    Slipknot

  15. Beth says:

Any rumours about Marilyn Manson? I’d LOVE if he went… After all they are planning on releasing their new album later this year so he could go, and they’re due another appearance; as are Placebo. :)

    • Rachel says:

I heard Marilyn Manson has an album out towards the end of 2012, so the tour might be next Summer, so they could play a festival next year, hopefully :)

  16. liam says:

    i’ve heard…
    SONIPSHER:
    Friday-Green Day
    Saturday-Foo Fighters
    Sunday-RHCP

    DOWNLOAD:
    Friday-Van Halen
    Saturday-Blink-182
    Sunday-Iron Maiden

  17. Rich says:

ive heard of a lot of people it will be

    Friday- Metallica

Saturday – Red Hot Chilli Peppers

    Sunday – Foo Fighters

  18. Mitchy says:

i herd a zebrahead may be tryin 4 2nd stage this year

  19. hannah says:

i would REALLY REALLY LOVE to see DEFTONES and PEARL JAM is there any chance of this??? x

  20. OZZY69 says:

Its been confirmed ozzy n sabbath are reforming, recording a new album and touring next year,so could well happen for download

  21. Anon says:

Apparently A7X are confirmed for Download 2012. All I can say is their drummer Mike is away over the festival period and they will have a replacement drummer for that 1 show.

  22. connor says:

i hope iron maiden plays ive seen them before the best concert of my life

  23. ben says:

seriously wanna see megadeth what are the chances of them playin

  24. peatseykins says:

any chance lamb of god will be there??

    • Scarecrow says:

Very good chance asa sub-headliner as I think there is a new album coming out I think. Evanescence are also likely to sub-headline the other day

  25. warhead100 says:

Does anyone know if Metallica will be playing at download in 2012?!, I really really really need to go and see them!,

  26. Jack says:

Blink 182 have been comfirmed as headliners for the Sunday night!! source – “Kerrang”

  27. Eden says:

    Fully hope A7X play :D .
Heard that Van Halen are headlining? I want the line up to be out now! :’)
Would be good if parkway drive and ADTR also play there as well :) .

  28. Ben says:

I’ve been hearing rumours of Trivium, Lamb of God and Iron Maiden quite a bit, I hope they’re right. Would also be great to see A7X, BMTH, Asking Alexandria and Pendulum again, and I have had my fingers crossed for Enter Shikari since last year. So if I see a number of those 8 on the line up, it will be enough for me to return.

    • George says:

Iron Maiden defo arn’t doing that as i saw Nicko Mcbrian from Maiden last night and he said they won’t be doing it as they’re not a fan of download as they prefferd it when it was monsters of rock so if you hope to see them at a festival sonisphere is your best shot although i highly doubt they’ll be doing it again in 2012

    • JamieAA2012 says:

I’m sure Bring Me The Hairspray are playing, they said they’d love to do download again. Asking Alexandria will probably just turn up on the day and I think Parkway Drive and Architects will go too. The BMTH tour at the beginning of 2012 would be good to see again

  29. Tom says:

I’d love Rammstein, Flyleaf, Tenacious D, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin (that’s a long-shot), Evanescence, Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Seether, Marilyn Manson, Korn, BFMV. Any of them would suit me.

  30. Oliver says:

If you look at who has new albums out or due to be released and who is touring, then you can see who will be at festivals for the summer.

    Trivium
    Evanescence
    Five Finger Death Punch
    Mastodon
    In Flames
    You Me At Six
    Blink 182
    Enter Shikari
Rammstein (Possibly Greatest Hits set , though I think its unlikely)
Iron Maiden is a good shot with them playing no UK festivals this past summer due to the world tour.
    The Devil Wears Prada
Machine Head (Easily the safest bet)
Coal Chamber (If all goes well In Australia)
Lamb Of God (New album set for release next year)
    Opeth
Sepultura (I can see this happening)
    Black Label Society
    Limp Bizkit
    Steel Panther
    Devin Townsend

    People I think wont.

Foo Fighters – Reading & Leeds written all over it
    Slipknot – Wont happen
Red Hot Chili Peppers – R&L or Sonisphere
Green Day – R&L or Sonisphere
Marilyn Manson – Is he even alive?
    Black Sabbath – Never

  31. Chris says:

Just saw that Slayer will be in the UK at the end of May for a tour! Could they be at Download?

  32. Thep says:

Blink 182 are defo headlining the sunday and metallica are heavily rumoured to be headlining the friday. first announcment tonight. sonisphere is rumoured to have RHCP and Tool. not sure if this is true. grabbing and findons sources now :D

  33. jonesy says:

id kill to see blue october there…

  34. josh says:

OLIVER, why isn’t Metallica and Lou Reed on your list?

  35. Temallica says:

Tallica confirmed sat headline playing black album in entirety. sabbath press conf today 7pm uk time, same time as next headliner is announced.

rhcp have been rumoured for sonisphere but so has green day/foo’s…..

    • Ben says:

soni aint getting rhcp, theyre only doing 2 uk gigs this year and they are sunderland and knebworth (not soni actual knebworth arena) so no chillis this year for either soni or download

  36. Bondi41 says:

Metallica confirmed for saturday and Black Sabbath confirmed for sunday.

  37. George says:

i asked nicko mcbrian from iron maiden last night if they would be playing download and he said they wouldn’t play it again as they don’t like the way it’s changed since it was monsters of rock before it was download

  38. max says:

Just In: I can confirm that Metallica will be playing the black album in its entirety and black Sabbath will also be headlining

  39. Joe says:

ive just seen that nova rock acts have been announced and that metallica are playing. they are going to be pushing for time as it is on the same dates. im just thinking because a few of the acts announced at nova rock i would like to be a download but it seems unlikely they will. these bands include trivium, lamb of god, slayer, killswitch engage and machine head. i wouldnt really wont mastodon as i thought they were a bit shit at sonisphere last year

  40. Ryanito says:

    Healiners:
    Friday: The prodigy
    Saturday: Mettalica
    Sunday: Black Sabbath
That’s been confirmed but I doubt Machine Head will play on the second stage.

  41. Matt says:

Sum 41 would be good as main support for Metallica, such an underrated band nowadays

  42. Mermaid says:

I would go if Korn played, I’m already tempted by Metallica

  43. Tony says:

One for us originals in the room I was at the last nigh of Saxons World tour in London – very heavy hint from Biff that they are hoping to play Download next year!

  44. Spitroast says:

Slayer are about in Europe at that time and haven’t done download for a while and I know they love it. If they go I have no doubt Machine Head will be there. Both of them are main stage acts only and don’t usually headline, would make a great Saturday with them then Metallica!

I would imagine Korn will be there promoting their latest album in UK, a bit industrial for my liking but would work well before Prodigy on the Friday. Would love to see Fear Factory back there too.

Hope Nonpoint go again. Will be interesting to see who’s on stage before Sabbath on Sunday.

  45. claire says:

i thought black veil brides where ment to be playing, the main reason i’m actually going all the way down to england hahaha, and i heard that that bullet where playing this year too, that would be AMAZING!
